Seems like you can ask anything from the tech giant but never ever ask him to provide you online privacy services. We all know that when it comes to online privacy, Google is not the most preferred platform for smartphone users. Maybe it’s not the mistake of the industrial developers but only because the hackers now focus on getting users who access Google services.
Anyway, who cares about the reason for a threat. But everyone does care about securing his device from any sort of online threat. In-Browsers is one of them because they are not secure at all. So for the benefit of Android users, I present a guide about How To Disable In-App Browser in Gmail & Google App. Here, I’ll talk about the apps individually.
Disable In-App Browser in Gmail
- From the side menu bar of Gmail, tap on “Settings”
- Now hit “General Settings”
- On the next window, uncheck the “Open web links in Gmail” checkbox.
Thereafter, any link you open from your Gmail, it’ll open in your default web browser. In fact, your phone will ask you whatever web browser you want to access to open a specific link. And if it doesn’t, you’ll have to perform a soft reset to make the changes work as they are supposed to.
Disable In-App Browser in Google App
- Launch the Google App on Android and tap once on the “More” icon.
- Hit “Settings”.
- Navigate to the “General” tab.
- Under “Manage Pending Searches”, disable the “Open web pages in the app” toggle.
Now it time you check by opening a link from Google App. In my opinion, you wouldn’t want a reset, because it would now start to open in your web browser. If you want to install multiple web browsers on your device, then you may need to select your desired browser as your default one.
